End-to-End Encryption for RCS
iOS 26.5 now supports end-to-end encryption for RCS messages. If you send texts from your iPhone to Android users, they’ll be as secure as iMessages sent between iPhones. A little lock symbol will show up next to your encrypted messages.
For this feature to work, both the sender and the receiver need to use carriers that support the updated RCS. Enhanced Maps App
The Maps app has a new “Suggested Places” feature. This tool recommends nearby spots based on your recent searches and trending locations. It’s a great way to discover new places without much effort.
Changes for Third-Party Wearables
In response to the EU’s Digital Markets Act, Apple is making significant changes. Third-party wearables, like some earbuds and smartwatches, can now access features previously exclusive to Apple devices.
- Proximity Pairing: You can easily connect third-party earbuds to your iPhone, similar to how you connect AirPods.
- Notifications: Now, smartwatches can receive and interact with notifications from an iPhone, breaking the barrier that limited third-party devices.

Improved Transfer to Android
