Exciting news! Apple’s next iPhone, the iPhone 17e, is reportedly set to launch on February 19. This date is interesting because it falls exactly one year after the iPhone 16e’s release. A recent report from Macwelt, a German tech site, claims that this information is circulating among case and accessory manufacturers.
Typically, Apple unveils new products early in the week. Thursday launches are quite rare. So while a February launch seems likely based on past patterns, I’d suggest taking that specific date with some caution.
One of the major upgrades for the iPhone 17e is support for MagSafe wireless charging, which was a missing feature in the 16e. The Japanese site Macotakara added that the 17e will include some exciting new specs:
- A19 chip for faster processing
- Apple’s new C1X modem, promising speeds up to twice as fast as the one found in the 16e
- The N1 network chip for improved Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Thread connectivity
Interestingly, the design will largely remain unchanged. The iPhone 17e will still have a notch instead of the Dynamic Island feature and will only feature one rear camera.
With upgrades focused on speed and charging, this model has many potential buyers buzzing. A recent survey showed that about 65% of users look forward to upgrading whenever new models are released, eager for improved features.
