The 2025 Emmy nominations are being revealed, and excitement is in the air!
This year, the nominees for the reality competition program and talk series categories were shared on CBS Mornings at 8 a.m. ET.
In the reality competition program category, last year’s champion, The Traitors, returns. It’s joined by familiar contenders: RuPaul’s Drag Race, The Amazing Race, Survivor, and Top Chef. These shows have been known for their intense drama and cutthroat competition, making this a fierce category.
The talk series nominations are trimmed down to just three this year. The reigning winner, The Daily Show, is back, alongside Jimmy Kimmel Live! and The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. These series have been staples in late-night entertainment, providing laughs and insights into current events.
Later today, Harvey Guillén from What We Do in the Shadows, along with Brenda Song from Running Point and Cris Abrego from the Television Academy, will reveal more nominees at 11:30 a.m. ET. Fans can catch this live at the Emmys’ website or on the TV Academy’s YouTube channel.
The 77th Emmy Awards, hosted by Nate Bargatze, will broadcast live on CBS on Sunday, September 14, at 8 p.m. ET. You can also stream the event live on Paramount+.
Before the main event, the Creative Arts Emmy Awards will take place on September 6 and 7, recognizing many talents across different categories.
Last year, Hacks clinched the title of best comedy series, while Shogun swept the drama category with a total of 17 awards. In an impressive feat, The Bear set a record for the most wins in a single comedy season, tallying 11 victories—a remarkable achievement compared to its 10 wins the previous year.
