Discover the Exciting Transformation: Foxcroft Wine Co. Evolves into Foxcroft Food & Wine – WCCB Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, NC – What started as a cozy wine shop in Charlotte’s Foxcroft neighborhood in 2004 has transformed into a thriving restaurant group. Now known as Foxcroft Food & Wine, the brand has expanded to six locations across North and South Carolina, with plans for more next year.

The founder, Conrad Hunter, reflects on the journey: “Back in 2004, I wanted to share great wines without intimidating anyone. Today, we’ve become a go-to spot for everything from casual meet-ups to special celebrations. Our new name really captures who we are now – a welcoming place for everyone.”

Many patrons previously visiting Foxcroft only for wine were often surprised to find an extensive food menu. Hunter noted the need for a name change that better represented their offerings.

The growth has been impressive. In just six years, Foxcroft has nearly tripled its presence. Multiple new locations have opened in Charlotte, Raleigh, and Greenville, SC, showcasing local charm while offering a carefully curated wine list and a diverse food menu.

Newer spots, like those in Waverly (opened in 2019) and planned expansions in Birkdale (2024) and Raleigh (2025), each span 4,000 square feet. They aim to maintain a warm neighborhood feel while providing ample space for private events.

Alongside the rebranding, several new initiatives are underway:

  • Chef Stephanie Klos is now the Culinary Director, introducing innovative menu ideas.
  • A weekend brunch will launch later this year in Birkdale and Raleigh.
  • A patio expansion is set for Dilworth in early 2026.
  • A collaborative cocktail program with the award-winning lounge Dot Dot Dot is also in the works.

Foxcroft has become a staple in its community. It’s a favorite for regulars, casual outings, and even business meetings. Guests can enjoy wine dinners, masterclasses, and tastings that help them learn about various wine regions.

The rebranding to Foxcroft Food & Wine will be noticeable with new signage coming soon. The company also has plans to grow further in 2026, aiming to become a beloved part of even more neighborhoods.
