Discover the Future: 8 Innovative Indian Startups Showcase AI-Powered Apps at Google I/O Connect India 2025!

Google recently held the I/O Connect India 2025 event in Bengaluru, highlighting innovative new tools aimed at Indian developers. Eight local startups showcased apps developed with Google’s AI technology, including Sarvam, CoRover, Dashverse, Entri, Glance, Invideo, Nykaa, and Toonsutra.

One standout is Sarvam, which introduced its Sarvam-Translate model. This open-source translation tool uses Google’s Gemma 3 to provide translations across all 22 official Indian languages. Notably, it handles over 100,000 translation requests each week and powers a conversational AI platform, Samvaad, managing over 10 million conversations.

CoRover also made waves with its customizable multilingual chatbots, supporting more than 100 languages with impressive accuracy. According to Google, their BharatGPT AI model has engaged over 1 billion users and managed interactions for 25,000 companies.

Glance, an AI commerce platform, enhanced user experience by allowing them to upload selfies. The app uses Gemini and Imagen technology to create personalized looks, proving popular among users.

In education, Entri integrated AI tools for real-time support in Indian languages, with more than half of its users accessing the Teacher Assistant feature.

Invideo, a cloud-based video platform, enables users to create videos through AI-generated prompts. They utilized Google’s Imagen 4 and Veo 3 for transforming ideas into visual content.

In the retail space, Nykaa added a visual product search feature, allowing customers to find items by simply uploading photos.

Dashverse, focusing on creative arts, leveraged AI to produce comics and cinematic videos. Their platforms have reached 2 million users and even created an AI-generated epic drama based on Indian mythology.

Lastly, Toonsutra combined Gemini and Lyria technology to develop Indian-language webcomics, enriching the storytelling experience with music and character voices.

These startups reflect a growing trend in India’s tech landscape, where AI is rapidly transforming industries. As of 2023, the AI market in India is projected to reach $7.8 billion, showing the potential for innovation and growth.

With user engagement on the rise and companies harnessing AI’s power, the future promises exciting developments for both consumers and developers alike. For further insights on AI trends, check out reports from trusted sources like McKinsey and Company here.
