Indian Railways is launching the Amrit Bharat Express, a new train service that will connect Guwahati and Chennai. This train aims to make travel affordable and efficient over a long distance of about 2,674 kilometers. Passengers can expect the journey to take around 36 hours.

The train will stop at several important stations along the way, enhancing connectivity between the northeastern and southern parts of India. Key stops include:

These stops are carefully chosen to connect major cities and towns, making travel more convenient for passengers.

The Amrit Bharat Express is especially designed for low-income and lower-middle-income travelers, providing a comfortable way to travel without breaking the bank. Although ticket prices for the Guwahati to Chennai route have not been revealed yet, the train will feature 22 coaches, mainly with Sleeper Class seating.

This new service helps close the geographical gap between regions, fostering cultural and economic interactions. It reflects Indian Railways’ commitment to improving infrastructure and making long-distance travel accessible to everyone.
