Move over, Mickey Mouse! A recent study has revealed America’s favorite amusement parks, and surprisingly, Disney didn’t clinch the top spot.
The research conducted by Nieuwe Casinos analyzed reviews from Google and Tripadvisor to find the parks that earned five-star ratings from visitors.
At the top of the list is Discovery Cove in Florida. Over 85% of guests gave this all-inclusive resort a perfect score. Guests can swim with dolphins, relax on sandy beaches, and explore beautiful marine life.
In second place is Knoebels Amusement Resort in Pennsylvania, which received a stellar 4.8 out of 5 stars on Google. This park is unique; it’s family-owned and offers free admission, with visitors only paying for rides.
Next up is Tennessee’s Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster, coming in third. This attraction boasts the second-longest downhill track in the U.S., where riders enjoy breathtaking views for a thrilling 7-8 minute ride.
Universal Islands of Adventure in Florida holds the fourth position, famous for attractions like the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. It’s a must-visit for fans of fantasy and adventure.
Finally, in fifth place is Disney California Adventure. This park focuses more on attractions for adults, making it different from Disneyland, which caters to the classic Disney experience.
Despite Disney’s iconic status, it didn’t dominate the list partly due to rising costs. A recent report from the Wall Street Journal noted that a two-day trip for a family of four can run nearly $3,000, excluding travel and accommodation. This hefty price tag may be pushing some families to explore other options.
