Discover the Inspiring Winners of the Fife Climate Forest Photo Competition!

The Climate Action Fife Partnership recently held a photo competition, capturing the beauty of trees across Fife. Participants spanned primary schools, secondary schools, and adults, showcasing a variety of entries that celebrated nature.

Alison Wilson, whose son Lewis won the primary school category, expressed joy at his recognition. “Lewis loves the outdoors and has a keen interest in nature,” she shared.

Colin Andrews, a photography lecturer at Napier University and head judge, praised the submissions. He noted, “The diverse range of perspectives highlights the talent in our community.”

Rebecca Logsdon, the Community Engagement Manager for Fife Climate Forest, emphasized the crucial role trees play in our lives. “Fife’s trees help us connect and thrive,” she said, reflecting on the incredible images submitted, from seasons changing to children engaging with nature.

Notably, Julianne Gresty, a teacher at Milesmark Primary School, was thrilled with her runner-up status. Her photograph depicted a student connecting with trees during an outdoor lesson. “This recognition highlights both nature’s beauty and the need for environmental awareness among students,” she added.

The winners are:

  • Primary School: Lewis Wilson, Collydean Primary School, Glenrothes.
  • Runner Up: Julianne Gresty, Milesmark Primary School, Dunfermline.
  • Secondary School: Shannon Prentice, Levenmouth Academy, Leven.
  • Runner Up: Jack Brown, Balwearie High School, Kirkcaldy.
