This week was a mixed bag for me. I felt on top of the world after snagging second place out of 511 competitors at the New York City Hyrox race last Saturday. But just the day before, a summer intern asked if I actually worked there or was still an intern myself. My sweatpants, Ultraboosts, and a barbecue t-shirt must have given off the wrong vibe. Clearly, I didn’t look like I belonged.
But, I promise I do work here! And since I do, I’m here to share some great food finds from North Jersey this week.
Prosciutto, Ricotta & Honey Agnolotti at Frank Anthony’s
Frank Anthony’s got creative with local pasta from Mike’s Pasta Shoppe. They made agnolotti filled with prosciutto, ricotta, and honey, all smothered in spicy Calabrian chili cream sauce.
Each bite offers a fun mix of sweetness from the honey and a kick from the chili. It’s topped with extra prosciutto for crunch—bringing together a surprisingly great flavor combo that you don’t usually find in pasta.

Cheesesteak at Casano’s Pizza Parlor
Chef Dave Ligas hit another home run with his cheesesteak at Casano’s Pizza Parlor. He used house-made Cooper Sharp cheese whiz to create a gooey, irresistible sandwich.
The meat was perfectly cooked, and caramelized onions added a luscious, salty touch. Served on a fresh baguette, this cheesesteak might just be the best I’ve had. Don’t forget to order Mozzarella Wedges on the side!

FatBoy Caramel Cookie Ice Cream Sandwich
Last week, I raved about M&M’s Peanut Butter Ice Cream Sandwich and inadvertently sold it out everywhere in North Jersey. This week, I turned to the FatBoy Caramel Cookie Sandwich.
However, it fell flat. While it featured soft-baked shortbread cookies with caramel ice cream and crushed cashews, it failed to impress. Lesson learned: if it’s not the M&M’s version, maybe skip it.
Find them in South Jersey.
Social Media Buzz
Food trends often bubble up on social media, and this week was no different. Posts featuring agnolotti and cheesesteaks gained traction, with locals sharing their experiences, which speaks volumes about the community’s love for good food.
In fact, nearly 65% of food lovers turn to social media for restaurant recommendations, demonstrating the ever-growing influence of platforms like Instagram.
So whether you’re running a race, enjoying a cheesesteak, or treating yourself with ice cream, North Jersey has something delicious to offer.
