Fables and Fantasy: Ravel’s Mother Goose

Join the Beaverton Symphony Orchestra for a delightful family concert celebrating Ravel’s 150th birthday. Experience the magic of classic fairy tales from Mother Goose, brought to life through enchanting music from composers like Ravel, Tchaikovsky, and more.
The concert features:
- Mother Goose by Maurice Ravel
- Overture to Cinderella by Gioachino Rossini
- Selections from Sleeping Beauty by Tchaikovsky
- Selections from Peer Gynt by Edvard Grieg
- Selections from Dornröschen by Engelbert Humperdinck

Village Gallery of Arts

Sunday, February 9, 3-5 PM, 1060 NW Saltzman Rd (next to the library)
Meet our featured artists and explore their work while enjoying the new show running from February 4 to March 2. Many affordable pieces are available in various media!
Diane Remic, our 2D featured artist, is an illustrator and graphic designer inspired by nature and science fiction. She uses digital and traditional methods to craft her pieces.
In our 3D section, Karen Trent’s stained-glass works will be displayed in a memorial show, with proceeds benefiting the gallery.
Sherry Hansen’s vibrant paintings capture joyful memories of her mother’s garden.
Art Dollars for Scholars
Community members can enter our show and sale! Pick up panels starting February 4 for just $15 each. Young artists (18 and under) receive a free canvas. The show runs from May 6 to June 1, helping to fund scholarships for art students. More details can be found on the VGA website.

Clay Sunday with Rose Rutherford-Ha

Join us for a fun open studio afternoon! All materials are provided, and an instructor will be available to help.
Make-a-Valentine Event
Saturday, February 10, 1-3 PM – Free
Create special handmade valentines with guidance from our team. All supplies will be included, so just show up!
Children’s Art Classes
Every Thursday, 3:45-5:15 PM – $70 for ages 7-11
Kids can explore various art forms with our rotating instructors. Projects for February include clay tic-tac-toe and watercolor houses, while March will feature paper-mache sculptures!
Adult Classes
Watercolor Backgrounds
Thursday, February 20, 6-9 PM – $35 members, $40 non-members
Learn techniques to make your watercolor backgrounds pop with fun shapes and colors.
Intro to Watercolor Painting
Tuesdays in March, 7-9:30 PM – $120 members, $140 non-members
Suitably designed for beginners, this class encourages experimentation with paint and water.
Italic Calligraphy
Fridays, April 4, 11, 18, 1-3 PM – $70 members, $85 non-members
Learn the basics of Italic script to beautify your writing!
Illuminated Letters
Sunday, April 27, 1-3:30 PM – Free (registration required)
Create your own illuminated letter with provided supplies. Choose a letter in advance to decorate with colors and metallics!
