TRENTON – New Jersey is bracing for a severe nor’easter storm. Acting Governor Tahesha Way has declared a State of Emergency starting at 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2025. The storm is predicted to hit on Sunday, October 12, and last until Monday, October 13.
Expect moderate to major coastal flooding in parts of the state, as well as flash floods inland. Winds could reach up to 60 mph. Some areas may see up to five inches of rain, and the surf is projected to be dangerously high, leading to beach erosion and dune breaches.
“This storm will bring extreme weather, especially to our coastal counties,” said Acting Governor Way. “We’re issuing a State of Emergency for all 21 counties to ensure emergency services can respond effectively. Please stay informed, follow local weather updates, and avoid unnecessary travel.”
