Weld County checks restaurants, schools, grocery stores, and other places that serve food. They use a simple three-category system: pass, reinspection required, and closed. When evaluating these facilities, officials look at several key factors. These include how food is cooled, reheated, and stored, as well as the risk of cross-contamination and the hygiene practices of employees.

Here’s what each rating means:

• Pass: The place meets basic food safety standards, although it may have a few minor violations. Most of these were fixed during the inspection.
• Reinspection required: The facility had some violations. Corrections may have been made, but another inspection is needed to confirm safety standards are met.
• Closed: Serious unsanitary conditions or health risks were found. The establishment must stop operations until it fixes these issues.

If a place has the “closed” rating but later reopened, it will be marked with an asterisk.
