To promote safe sleep for infants, every baby leaves the hospital with a sleep sack, and for those without a safe sleep surface, a complimentary Pack ‘n Play is provided. This generosity comes from donations to the Mount Nittany Health Foundation.
New and expectant parents can access free online classes to prepare for childbirth and parenting. These include:
- Early Pregnancy Preparations
- Prenatal Education Bootcamp (available in English and Spanish)
- Coping and Comfort
- Breastfeeding 101 (offered in English and Spanish)
- Newborn Care (available in English and Spanish)
- Perinatal Mental Health (newly added)
“Our team feels privileged to be part of such a significant moment in our patients’ lives,” said Kaitlyn Brunner, DO, an OB-GYN at Mount Nittany Health. “From care to education, we strive to support parents throughout their journey.”
Baby names often reflect cultural trends. For instance, in the last decade, names like Oliver and Sophia have consistently ranked high. According to the Social Security Administration, the name Oliver has been a favorite for boys since 2017, while Sophia has been in the top three for girls for over a decade.
These trends show how names evolve. Many parents today lean towards classic names with a twist, blending tradition with modern flair. This trend can also be seen on social media platforms, where hashtags related to baby names gain popularity as parents seek inspiration.
