Discover the New Katra-Amritsar Vande Bharat Train: Convenient Route Through Gurdaspur and Batala!

The Indian Railways is launching a new route for the Vande Bharat Express, connecting Katra and Amritsar. This new path will now go through Gurdaspur and Batala, skipping the previous longer route via Jalandhar.

Starting at 6:40 AM, the train will leave from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra and arrive in Amritsar by 11:40 AM. On the way back, it will depart Amritsar at 4:40 PM and reach Katra at 9:45 PM. The train will stop at Jammu, Pathankot Cantt, Gurdaspur, and Batala in both directions.

Officials in the Jammu Division of Northern Railway state that this route change aims to improve connectivity between Jammu and Amritsar. It not only cuts down on travel time but also expands services to residents and pilgrims in the border areas.

Uchit Singhal, the Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, pointed out that the new arrangement is meant to enhance the journey for premium passengers. It also caters to the growing demand for faster train services in this region.

Recent reports show a significant increase in train travel this year, with passenger numbers soaring by 15%. The demand for quicker, more efficient travel options continues to rise. This new train route is expected to meet that need while providing modern facilities.
