Edible Brands, known for its fruit baskets, is entering the hemp market with a new online store: Edibles.com. This platform will sell a variety of hemp products like Cann drinks and Wana gummies. The move comes after the federal government legalized hemp through the 2018 Farm Bill, allowing many businesses to offer THC products derived from hemp, even in states where marijuana remains illegal.

According to Edible Brands CEO Somia Farid Silber, there is a strong demand for a reliable source of hemp products. "People are looking for a safe and trusted place to buy," she told CNBC. The site will start with Texas and expand quickly to other states like Florida and Georgia.
The hemp industry is experiencing rapid growth. A recent report projects legal cannabis sales could top $32 billion in 2024, with edibles making up around $4.5 billion of that total. This illustrates the increasing acceptance and market for cannabis-based products.
Silber explained that the idea to launch Edibles.com was in the works for some time. A year ago, the company acquired the domain after a lengthy legal dispute. They’ve also hired experienced cannabis executives like Thomas Winstanley to ensure the platform’s success. Products on Edibles.com are carefully selected, with all suppliers undergoing rigorous compliance checks to guarantee quality and safety.
The company is leveraging its existing franchise network to offer quick delivery. Silber noted, “We can cover 70% of households in the U.S. within an hour,” mirroring the efficiency of their fruit basket deliveries.
In terms of product formulation, Edibles.com focuses on low-dosage offerings, with a typical serving containing around five milligrams of THC. This cautious approach aligns with industry standards and regulations, as seen in states like Colorado, where the cap is 10 milligrams per serving.
Social media reactions have shown excitement for the launch, with users eager to explore a reliable source for hemp-based products. This reflects broader public interest in legal cannabis, which has doubled in popularity since 2018, according to various surveys.
Edibles.com is also considering creating its own product line in the future, signaling potential growth beyond just selling established brands. This could allow them to cater to the evolving market preferences.
Overall, the launch of Edibles.com represents a significant moment for the hemp industry, potentially reshaping how consumers access and perceive THC products. For more detailed information, you can check the insights from Leaflink regarding the cannabis market’s trajectory here.
