So, how many new trains have been rolled out recently? This question arose when Rajya Sabha MP Medha Vishram Kulkarni inquired about the latest figures from Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. She wanted specific details about train operations in Maharashtra, especially in Pune.

On July 25, 2025, Vaishnaw shared that Indian Railways introduced 182 new train services in the period from 2024 to mid-2025. This move has significantly boosted regional connectivity.

Among these, several trains serve the Pune region:

• Hubbali – Pune Vande Bharat Express
• Kolhapur – Pune Vande Bharat Express
• Godda- Lokmanya Tilak (T) Express
• Nagpur – Secunderabad Vande Bharat Express
• Bandra (T)-Lalkuan Express
• Gaya – Lokmanya Tilak (T) Express
• Lokmanya Tilak (T) – Saharsa Amrit Bharat Express
• Jodhpur – Hadapsar Express
• Bikaner- Bandra (T) Express
• Hazur Sahib Nanded – Firozpur Express

Additionally, a new train connecting Pune to Rewa is on the way, with stops in various towns. The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj (T) – Jalna Vande Bharat Express will also be extended to Hazur Sahib Nanded.

Currently, Pune has 291 train services, while Nasik and Aurangabad have 155 and 62, respectively. The introduction of new trains will continue based on demand and operational requirements, as noted by Vaishnaw.
