The Oberoi Group has launched a fresh wellness concept called ASMI by Oberoi. This program aims to weave wellness into every aspect of their hotels. Initially, ASMI will roll out at their properties in India, with plans to expand internationally in 2026.
In Sanskrit, ASMI means “I am.” This idea is rooted in the belief that we are shaped by our choices. The framework is built on five core pillars: movement, nutrition, bodywork, breathwork, and mindfulness. These elements draw inspiration from the Indian philosophy of Pancha Kosha, which sees well-being through five layers of existence.
ASMI encourages guests to improve their health and well-being in a personal way. Guests will start their journey with a wellness assessment called “I Am Aware.” This helps them identify their current feelings and set goals for their wellness journey. Based on this assessment, a customized program is created, focusing on nutrition that boosts energy and clarity, along with movement and relaxation activities.
The program will feature in-room wellness cues, personalized treatments, and guided practices, all designed to help guests find balance. To support guests after their stay, home-care items and advice will be provided.
Dr. Anuradha Mathad, the Oberoi Group’s AVP of Spa, explained that ASMI blends Indian wisdom in Ayurveda, mindfulness, yoga, and breath work with modern practices. Each aspect is authentic, aiming to deliver real benefits. Wellness is personalized, allowing guests to progress at their pace.
Bryan Hoare, a wellness consultant for Oberoi, added that ASMI is a straightforward lifestyle model based on those five pillars. It focuses on health, recovery, and finding deeper meaning in daily life.
Vikram Oberoi, CEO of The Oberoi Group, shared that ASMI represents their belief in creating memorable experiences that impact the body, mind, and spirit. He emphasizes that wellness through ASMI is not just a service; it’s a personal and transformative experience that embodies the essence of India.
Currently, guests can explore ASMI at The Oberoi Sukhvilas Resort and Spa in New Chandigarh and The Oberoi Vindhyavilas Wildlife Resort in Bandhavgarh, Madhya Pradesh.
As wellness trends grow worldwide, ASMI reflects a shift toward holistic health, focusing on integrating mind and body practices into daily routines. With increasing interest in wellness tourism, frameworks like ASMI are becoming more prominent, allowing guests to prioritize their well-being while traveling.
