After marrying Kenneth Richard in 1930, who worked in the potato industry for decades, she has enjoyed potatoes for more than 90 years. Even now, she keeps potatoes in her diet, alongside other healthy habits.

Living at Waltonwood Carriage Park in Canton, Michigan, Gibson emphasizes the value of not smoking or drinking. She also highlights the importance of a positive attitude and a smile. Facing challenges like mumps, measles, and even COVID-19 at the age of 109, her resilience is remarkable. Healthy living seems to be her mantra.

Interestingly, Gibson’s experiences reflect a broader trend among centenarians. Many, like Ethel Caterham, who is currently 115, share similar wisdom on longevity.
