The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to bring exciting upgrades, according to tipster Setsuna Digital.
While the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is a solid foldable phone, it doesn’t quite match up with some competitors. Rumors suggest that the Z Fold 7 could have more than just a design tweak.
Setsuna Digital claims that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will come with a better screen, but details are still sparse. Previous leaks hint at larger main and external displays—similar to the Galaxy Fold Special Edition.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 could showcase a new screen and a refreshed main camera.
The leaker also mentioned a revamped hinge and internal structure, which should make the phone feel smoother and more durable.
Foldable phones typically don’t have as much dust and water resistance as traditional smartphones. For example, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 comes with an IP48 rating, while the Galaxy S25 Ultra boasts an IP68 rating. The Fold 7 is expected to improve on this, although it’s uncertain if it will reach a higher IP rating.
Setsuna Digital also hinted at a better under-display camera, which is a promising change since the Fold 6’s camera quality was underwhelming. Interestingly, the Fold 7 will still use this technology, even though the Special Edition did not.
Moreover, the Fold 7 could introduce a new main camera, which is crucial since the current 50MP camera has been around for three years. Priced at $1,900, its camera performance has lagged behind top competitors, impacting its sales. Rumors suggest the upcoming model might sport a 200MP main camera.
Samsung still leads the market, yet its share is shrinking. With Apple entering the foldable market next year, Samsung needs to step up its game to stay competitive.
