LG is back with a new twist on their ultra-thin Wallpaper TV, the LG OLED evo W6. The original Wallpaper TV made waves in 2017, and it’s been six years since LG last refreshed the lineup. Excitingly, the W6 was unveiled at CES, showcasing innovative features that could change how we experience home entertainment.
This model is only 9mm thick, slightly more than its predecessor, but that’s thanks to a redesigned internal structure. The TV now mounts flush against the wall, offering a sleek look. One standout feature is the Zero Connect Box, allowing you to position it up to 10 meters (about 33 feet) away from the TV with no visible cables—just plug the TV into power.
The W6 also introduces LG’s new Hyper Radiant Color Technology. This tech boosts black levels, enhances colors, and improves brightness. Plus, it boasts the lowest reflectance of any LG TV, earning a Reflection Free with Premium certification from Intertek. The Brightness Booster Ultra feature promises a significant increase in brightness—up to 20% more than previous models, although peak brightness numbers for the W6 haven’t been disclosed yet.
For those who love art or photography, LG’s Gallery+ service offers over 4,500 images to display when you’re not watching shows or playing games. The W6 supports up to a 165Hz refresh rate and is compatible with AMD FreeSync Premium and G-Sync, making it a great choice for gamers.
The W6 will be available in both 77-inch and 83-inch sizes, catering to different viewing preferences.
As we look at user reactions, social media is buzzing with excitement about the W6, as viewers appreciate the blend of art and technology. This model not only serves as a powerful display for movies and games but also as a stylish addition to home decor.
In a recent survey by Statista, around 58% of consumers expressed interest in high-end TVs that offer features like those found in the W6, showing a growing demand for premium home entertainment options.
