Meet the Cast of the World Premiere of A Knight’s Tale Musical

The casting and creative team are set for the much-anticipated musical version of A Knight’s Tale, inspired by the beloved 2001 film featuring Heath Ledger and Paul Bettany.

This exciting stage adaptation comes from Irish writer Brona C Titley. It will make its debut in Manchester starting April 11, running until May 10 at the Opera House. The musical is directed by Rachel Kavanaugh, with choreography by Olivier winner Matt Cole, and features a mix of popular songs.

The cast includes:

Additional cast members include Robbie Alexander, Lauren Arney, and many others. The role of Young William will be shared by Cristian Buttaci, Cristiano Cuino, Nicholas Teixeira, and Theo Wake.

The original film follows William Thatcher, a peasant squire, played by Ledger, who pretends to be a nobleman to compete in jousting. His biggest rival is the infamous Count Adhemar.

Helgeland expressed joy in seeing the film’s spirit revived on stage. He said, “It feels wonderful to watch this story come to life again.” Titley, meanwhile, described the adaptation as “a sexy, silly, dance-filled extravaganza” that reflects her love for the original movie.

Kavanaugh added that she is thrilled to direct this new version, aiming to create an unforgettable night for the audience with humor, romance, and lively music.

The production team includes Simon Hale for music supervision, Tom Rogers for set design, and more talents contributing to a vibrant theatrical experience.

The musical is produced by Runaway Entertainment, Isobel David, Adam Spiegel, and others in collaboration with Sony Pictures.
