On February 10th, New York/New Jersey hosted the annual Kosher Food & Wine Experience (KFWE). This was a vibrant event, showcasing top kosher wines and spirits in two spacious rooms. Attendees enjoyed a delightful array of dishes while sampling wines from renowned regions like California, France, Israel, Italy, South Africa, and Spain. The event attracted 900 guests who explored over 80 tables brimming with options. Royal Wine made this amazing evening possible.

The selection included wines priced between $20 and $500, making it a fantastic opportunity for attendees to learn about kosher wine. Jay Buchsbaum, Royal Wine’s VP & Director of Wine Education, highlighted the industry’s recent growth and innovation. Kosher wines have become more diverse and complex, with a wave of micro-wineries emerging in Israel.

At KFWE, guests enjoyed a global wine tour without leaving their seats. Notable wines that garnered accolades include Psagot 2021 Peak, Herzog 2022 Special Edition Cabernet Sauvignon, Flam 2021 Noble, and a new addition, DAROM by Yatir Cabernet Sauvignon 2023, which reflects the evolving landscape of kosher wines.

  • From the USA – Capio, Covenant, Hagafen Family Vineyard, Herzog, Jeunesse, and Sonoma Loeb.
  • From France: Chateau Agassac, Chateau Bellevue, and Chateau La Fleur, among others.
  • From South Africa: Essa wine.
  • From Spain: Clos Mesorah.
  • From Italy: Cantina Giuliano, Joyvin, and Masseria Frattagi.
  • From Australia: Teal Lake.

A dedicated section featured wines from Israel, including selections from Barkan, Carmel, and Yatir Daron. The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as wine lovers, retailers, and press mingled, all eager to sample the diverse offerings.

The event also embraced spirits, featuring a variety of kosher tequilas like Amna and Patsch, as well as brands such as Bacan and Bourbon Rabbi. Each booth presented creative drinks that paired beautifully with the wines.

For food lovers, KFWE did not disappoint. Guests enjoyed an impressive spread of appetizer-sized dishes, including savory pizza from Sizzle & Slice, delicious cholent, and a falafel station by Ha’Misda Mediterranean Kitchen. There were also unique items like Manischewitz hot dogs and carved meats. Various Kayco brands highlighted the culinary scene, showcasing treats like Tuscanini Premium Imported Italian items and Manischewitz rugalach.

This energetic evening allowed everyone to explore, connect, and, most importantly, enjoy great kosher wines and foods. It was a perfect blend of taste and tradition, leaving guests toasting to a successful event. Cheers!
