Discover the Ultimate Family-Friendly Wellness Weekend with Sam Nazarian: A Retreat for Everyone!

Sam Nazarian, once the “Emperor of Cool” in nightlife, has switched gears. Instead of being the head of trendy hotspots like Katsuya and SLS hotels, he is now focused on wellness and family life.

In 2019, Nazarian had a revelation. He was running a massive operation with over 11,000 employees across nine global offices, yet he felt unhealthy and burnt out. “I was the majority owner of my company, and I was the most unhealthy I’d ever been,” he shared. Seeking a fresh start, he sold his hotel brands to Accor and included a three-year non-compete that allowed him the time to rethink his future.

During this transition, he found himself drawn to wellness practices. Influencers like Mark Hyman and biohacker Gary Brecka guided him on this journey. He explored luxury retreats emphasizing longevity, including SHA in Spain and Chenot in Italy.

A significant turning point came when he met Tony Robbins, who introduced him to unconventional treatments, including ice baths. This connection led him to Robbins’ Fountain Life center in Orlando, where he discovered an aggressive brain aneurysm. After consulting several neurosurgeons and undergoing surgery, he emerged healthier and committed to preventive health measures.

Now, Nazarian is collaborating with Robbins to create wellness-focused hotels and longevity centers under the brand "The Estate." They plan to develop 25 locations by 2030, with ongoing projects in places like St. Kitts. Together with musician Marc Anthony, they have also launched a hotel brand called HQ, with its own wellness strategy.

Nazarian’s weekends have transformed too, focused more on family than nightlife. Living in Miami with his wife and three young children, he dives into simple joys like family dinners and kids’ sports.

Here’s a peek into his typical weekend:

Friday Evening
Nazarian starts his weekend with a Shabbat dinner with his family. Although not overly religious, he values this cultural tradition. His mother also joins from Los Angeles, adding warmth to the gathering. They strive for the best education for their children in Coral Gables, a neighborhood known for its quality schools.

Saturday
Saturday mornings kick off with family activities. Nazarian takes his son to soccer practice and his daughters to tennis. He enjoys lunch on his yacht with a banker, blending business with leisure. The family also spends the day on the water, exploring Fisher Island Bay.

Sunday
Sunday mornings include a workout session with advanced health machines at home, including a hyperbaric chamber. He balances health and parenting by taking his daughters to Hebrew school. His afternoon is spent coordinating the construction of a new bio-hacking addition to their home—something he believes will enhance their well-being, including a meditation room for some peace and quiet.

Life has shifted dramatically for Nazarian, trading wild nightlife for wellness and family. This new chapter is not just about business. It’s about making time for what truly matters.
