Ozzy, who enjoys painting, applied colorful base coats on five canvases. The chimpanzees then added their own touches, resulting in a collection of eye-catching abstract pieces.
These artworks will be auctioned off, and the proceeds will benefit Save the Chimps, a sanctuary in Florida that rescues chimpanzees from labs, zoos, and traffickers. “Painting gives me peace, but I usually don’t sell my work,” he shared. “This is different because it helps the chimps.” His wife, Sharon, expressed pride in Ozzy’s efforts, noting that chimps are our closest relatives in the animal kingdom.
As he settles into retirement, Ozzy recently performed for the last time at a spectacular concert. He reflected on his journey with gratitude, saying, “You have no idea how I feel… Thank you from the bottom of my heart.” Despite facing serious health challenges over the last few years, including a Parkinson’s diagnosis and surgeries, Ozzy has shown resilience.
