Located at 8235 Trillium Circle Ave., Taboon Grand Blanc has been serving customers at this location since it moved from near the Genesee Valley Center three years ago. Eidy aims to educate visitors about the food they’re enjoying, sharing the historical influences of the region. Middle Eastern cuisine has evolved over centuries, influenced by cultures such as Turkish and French. The Ottoman Empire, which once spread across the area, introduced many beloved dishes like shawarma and baklava.

Comparing Lebanese food to other Middle Eastern cuisines, Eidy points out that Lebanese cooking often has a lighter, fresher feel. Grilled meats, fresh veggies, and olive oil are staples. Popular dishes include hummus, tabbouleh, and kibbeh, all simple in ingredient but complex in taste. For example, while Palestinian dishes may use bolder spices and more fats, Lebanese cuisine leans towards subtlety.

Moreover, French influence remains evident in Lebanon, as many locals speak the language. The menu at Taboon Grand Blanc is halal, featuring favorites such as deboned chicken, chicken shawarma, and shish kebabs. Other offerings include steaks, seafood, and various soups and salads.

Eidy takes pride in his recipes, stating, “No one knows my recipes. Everything is in my hands,” from the marination to the chopping of ingredients.
