Oppo has just unveiled the Find N5, the world’s slimmest foldable phone. It will be available in Europe and Asia for around $2,499 SGD (about $1,867 USD). While it’s pricier compared to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold in Singapore, the actual costs align closely when you consider storage options. Unfortunately, there are no plans for a US release, as Oppo’s sister brand OnePlus won’t be launching any foldables this year.
The Find N5 is impressively thin, measuring just 8.93mm when closed. This makes it slimmer than last year’s Honor Magic V3 and only slightly thicker than an iPhone 16 Pro. When you open it, the device measures 4.21mm at its thinnest, making it so delicate that Oppo had to create a special USB-C port for it. However, it is a bit thicker than Huawei’s trifold Mate XT, which was also launched globally this week.
With an IPX6, X8, and X9 rating, the Find N5 is safe from water splashes and even submersion, but it’s not protected against dust. This could be a concern, as dust often poses more risks to foldable devices. The screen crease has also been improved, making it both narrower and less noticeable when you swipe.
Despite its compact size, the phone comes with a 5,600mAh battery, offering impressive endurance. During my testing, it lasted for two days on a single charge. Oppo has also included wireless charging, which was missing in the previous model, the Find N3. It’s worth noting that there was no N4 model, as the number four is considered unlucky in China.
Powering the Find N5 is a 7-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. It’s available in one configuration with 16GB of RAM and 512GB storage. On the camera front, it boasts impressive Hasselblad-branded lenses: a 50-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel telephoto lens, and a 12-megapixel ultrawide lens.
The Find N5 is set to release on February 28th, with Singapore being the first confirmed market. Although there were hopes for a US launch, especially after the Find N3 was released there as the OnePlus Open, OnePlus has confirmed it will not be bringing this model to the States.
