On January 15, Irving Friedman, a heroic World War II and Korean War veteran, was laid to rest at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery. He was 99 years old. At the ceremony, Deputy Consul General Na Sang-deok from the Republic of Korea presented an Ambassador for Peace Medal and certificates to Irving’s son, Howard. This moment honored a life dedicated to service.

Every week, the nonprofit Emmanuel Arms Community, Inc. supports those in need by providing free clothing, food, laundry, and showers. This service is available at Emmanuel Temple Apostolic Church, located at 900 6th Street in South Vallejo. The need for help is increasing, and the community is encouraged to support this initiative.

The group invites everyone to their Big Breakfast Fundraiser on February 22, 8-10 a.m. at Applebee’s, located at 1041 Admiral Callaghan Lane in Vallejo.

On January 17, Rozzana Verder-Aliga was honored for her remarkable 29 years of elected service. Over 200 guests attended a ceremony where she received several certificates of appreciation from notable figures, including U.S. Representative John Garamendi and former State Senator Bill Dodd.
