On January 7, the Vallejo community welcomed four new city council members: Mayor Andrea Sorce and Councilmembers Helen-Marie Gordon, Tonia Lediju, and Alex Matias. They smiled broadly during their swearing-in ceremony at City Hall, bringing fresh energy and perspectives to local governance.
In another event, volunteers recently gathered with the Rebuilding Together Solano County Executive Director to prepare Disaster Safe at Home Kits. These kits will be distributed at the Mare Island Veterans Affairs Clinic and Veterans Halls across Solano County. This initiative highlights the community’s commitment to supporting local veterans.
Every third Monday at 6 p.m., veterans come together for a warm dinner and social time at the Vallejo Veterans Hall. It’s a great chance to connect and share stories with fellow service members. Additionally, on the third Wednesday of each month, The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 550 holds a similar gathering at the same time and place.
Such events not only foster camaraderie among veterans but also strengthen community bonds. They provide a space for members to support one another and engage in meaningful discussions about their experiences.
