Discover What Life Will Be Like in 2026: Exciting Changes and Trends Await!

As we wrap up a successful 2025, it’s time to shine a light on the exciting LIFE Programme coming up in 2026. The EU has announced over €358 million to support 132 new projects focused on boosting sustainability and improving our environment.

This year, keep an eye on the Call for Proposals for four LIFE sub-programmes: nature and biodiversity; circular economy and quality of life; climate change adaptation; and the clean energy transition. If you’re interested in applying, don’t miss the EU LIFE Info Days scheduled for April 2026.

LIFE will play a crucial role in key events like the European Climate Pact Annual Event (March 23-25), European Sustainable Energy Week (June 9-11), and the European Green Week. The highlight will be the LIFE Awards 2026, celebrating top projects at the European Green Week.

The LIFE Platform Meetings will also offer experts a chance to share insights and experiences. Four meetings are planned, covering topics like climate strategies and nature restoration. You can find more details on the LIFE Programme pages.

In addition to these events, LIFE will be showcased at major international conferences, like the Reuse Economy Expo (May 19-20) and the Green Transition Forum 6.0 (June 1-5). Teams from LIFE projects will collaborate with experts from various EU agencies to share knowledge and foster innovation.

This year marks the 34th anniversary of the LIFE Programme, which has funded over 6,500 projects, with more than 1,000 currently active. According to recent statistics, the need for effective environmental programs has never been greater, especially as climate change impacts intensify. Experts agree that initiatives like LIFE are essential for protecting wildlife, promoting clean energy, and enhancing the quality of life in Europe.

With a focus on sustainable prosperity and improved living conditions, 2026 promises to be a pivotal year for the LIFE Programme.
