Tesla Inc. is getting ready to enter the Indian market. Reports say they are setting up showrooms in two key locations: Select Citywalk in Saket, Delhi, and the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) in Mumbai. This could be a big move for the company as it looks to tap into India’s growing electric vehicle (EV) market.

Insiders share that Tesla has secured prime retail spaces in these bustling areas. Select Citywalk is a popular shopping and lifestyle hub, while BKC is a major business district filled with multinational companies and luxury brands. These showrooms are expected to be experience centers where potential buyers can check out Tesla’s EV lineup and advanced technology.
As of now, Tesla hasn’t made any official statements about this development. We’ll update the report once they comment.
While Tesla hasn’t announced a launch date for its vehicles in India yet, setting up these showrooms would show their serious interest in connecting with Indian customers. There’s also talk that they could bring in popular models like the Model 3 and Model Y.
Experts believe this retail strategy is well thought out. The Indian EV market currently has strong competition, with local players like Tata Motors and Mahindra, as well as international brands like MG and Hyundai.
According to Anuj Kejriwal, CEO of Anarock Retail, these locations attract high-income shoppers, which is exactly who Tesla wants to reach. By opening stores in these upscale areas, Tesla aims to enhance brand visibility and spark interest among potential buyers. Plus, cities like Delhi and Mumbai have more EV adoption and a rising number of luxury car owners.
Kejriwal also noted that these premium locations reinforce Tesla’s brand image. They offer a space for direct interaction with customers, test drives, and educational opportunities about EV technology. This move could also lay the groundwork for possible future expansion in the country.
Adding to the excitement, Tesla recently posted 13 job openings in India on LinkedIn. These positions include roles in customer service, vehicle maintenance, sales, and marketing, indicating that the company is gearing up for its entry into the Indian market.
