There are over a thousand Pokémon out there. Some catch our eye, while others? Not so much. Ever thought about Dewpider or Seaking? How about Taillow? It turns out, every Pokémon has a fan, and a new website shows their love.
Welcome to “Every Pokémon is Someone’s Favorite.” Here, you can share your favorite Pokémon and why you love them. It’s a heartwarming collection that celebrates both popular and lesser-known monsters. Since launching, the site has already seen over 55,000 heartfelt messages for all 1,025 Pokémon! You can browse through affectionate notes and stats or hit “Explore” to discover random declarations.
Some stories are touching. For example, one fan said about Unown, “They are the cutest thing ever. Their essence touched my off-putting and isolated soul.” Others are just playful, like one fan calling Gible, “just a hungry fella.”
Right now, the most popular Pokémon is Gengar, with a whopping 725 notes. It’s followed by Mimikyu, Bulbasaur, Absol, and Arcanine. Interestingly, Pikachu doesn’t even make the top ten! The least liked? That would be creatures like Arrokuda and Capsakid from the newer games. This might mean fans just need more time to connect with them.
Among the original classics, poor Goldeen stands out with only four declarations. Still, her fans left some sweet notes, celebrating her beauty regardless of her stats. “She is beauty, she is grace,” one admirer said, recalling fond memories from childhood.
Surprisingly, 22 Pokémon have gathered only two notes each. Many are newer ones, like Cascoon, whose fan wrote a charming note connecting it to fond memories of their mom knitting. “It reminds me of a ball of yarn,” they shared.
This collection brings a sense of community and nostalgia. Even if you can’t currently declare for the new starters in upcoming games like “Winds” and “Waves,” you can still celebrate the Pokémon you love.
This project taps into a larger trend: the growing importance of community in gaming. As fans from all over come together to share their stories, it’s clear that each Pokémon holds a unique place in someone’s heart.
