Discover Why Fallout Shelter Reached 230 Million Downloads in Just a Decade!

On the tenth anniversary of Fallout Shelter, Bethesda shared some exciting news: the game has been downloaded a staggering 230 million times across different platforms. To mark this milestone, they’re launching a special in-game event from June 16 to June 21. Players can log in to receive "party favours" like bonus lunchboxes and Nuka-Cola.

Bethesda explains, "Since 2015, tons of content has been added. You’ve built Vaults, guided your dwellers, and tackled thrilling quests—all while immersing yourself in the spirit of the wasteland."

For those new to the game or returning players, it’s a great time to jump in. To celebrate, lunchboxes in the in-game store are up to 70% off until June 17. Dust off your Pip-Boy and get ready to build!

Here’s a breakdown of the party favours:

  • June 16-17: 2 Lunchboxes, 1 Pet Carrier, 10 Nuka-Cola
  • June 18-19: 3 Lunchboxes, 1 Mr. Handy, 15 Nuka-Cola
  • June 20-21: 5 Lunchboxes, 1 Pet Carrier, 20 Nuka-Cola

Interestingly, the excitement around Fallout Shelter coincides with the success of the Fallout TV series. The show has already been renewed for a third season on Amazon Prime, even though the second season doesn’t premiere until December 2025. This reflects the ongoing popularity of the Fallout franchise, spanning different forms of media.

The world of gaming continues to grow. According to a recent report from Newzoo, the global gaming market is expected to generate over $200 billion in revenue by 2023. This suggests that free-to-play models like Fallout Shelter could play a significant role in attracting and retaining players.

So, whether you’re a long-time fan or just discovering it, now is the perfect moment to dive into the world of Vault-building. Here’s to another decade filled with adventure in Fallout Shelter!
