Issa Rae is on a roll. From her hit show “Insecure” to producing movies, she’s doing it all. Now, she’s stepping into the spotlight for something new: a Super Bowl commercial for TurboTax.
Rae has always wanted to be in a Super Bowl ad. In an interview, she shared, “Shooting a Super Bowl commercial has always been on my bucket list. So it was exciting to be able to do.”
She’s no stranger to TurboTax; she’s used their app to file her taxes before and loves how easy it makes the process. Her commercial aims to show others how helpful their services can be.
About the Super Bowl itself, Rae is excited for the halftime show. She’s particularly fond of Super Bowl XLVII in 2013 when Beyoncé reunited with Destiny’s Child.
When asked about her favorite Super Bowl commercials, she jokingly mentioned that she can’t choose one yet. “The TurboTax ad is going to be my new favorite,” she said. She appreciates that it highlights how TurboTax can simplify the tax process for everyone.
On game day, Rae plans to enjoy the festivities at a friend’s house with snacks and a glass of her own Viarae Prosecco.
Speaking of pairing, she suggested that seafood goes great with prosecco. For snack lovers, she recommended a charcuterie board to make the occasion feel a bit fancy.
