Growing up as a picky eater, I developed a love for burgers. That’s why I was excited when I heard about a new spot, RJ’s Burgers & Ice Cream Co. While editing an article on it, I knew I had to check it out. Their menu boasts delicious smash burgers, seasoned fries, edible cookie dough, and 32 flavors of ice cream—talk about a dream come true!
When I visited, the co-owner, Robert Wilkie, promised an “experience.” He delivered! Stepping into RJ’s felt like entering a vibrant ’50s diner. The decor, with its neon colors and quirky fixtures, instantly brightened my day. With “The Great British Bake Off” playing and upbeat music in the air, I was already charmed before tasting the food.
Ordering the burger is easy. You pick how many patties you want, choose your toppings, and select your sauce. I opted for a double bacon burger with American cheese, grilled onions, and their signature Moo Moo sauce. It was fantastic. The patties were incredibly thin, creating a crisp crust. The melty cheese and tangy sauce blended perfectly, and the crunchy bacon added a delightful touch.
Then came the fries—salt and vinegar fries to be exact. I’m a fan of that flavor combo, so my expectations were high. The fries, crispy and savory like Wendy’s, were elevated with the seasoning. Once I started eating, I didn’t want to stop. They were that good!
As I left the restaurant, I felt a renewed appreciation for local food. RJ’s is a bright spot, proving that delicious meals exist right in our backyard. When I returned to the office, I couldn’t wait to share my experience. I told my general manager, “That was an incredible experience.” And to my colleague Leo? A simple, “RJ’s is fire!” perfectly summed up my excitement.
This experience aligns with recent trends in the food industry, where diners are increasingly seeking comfort food that feels familiar yet stands out. According to a survey by the National Restaurant Association, over 80% of consumers now prioritize quality and uniqueness when choosing where to eat. RJ’s hits that mark with both its menu and atmosphere.
So, if you’re in the mood for a burger that’s more than just a meal, RJ’s is worth a visit. It might just become your new favorite spot too.
