Discover Why This Polish Restaurant is Crowned the Best Neapolitan Pizzeria in the World!

A restaurant in Pabianice, Poland, has been recognized as the best Neapolitan pizzeria in the world by the True Neapolitan Pizza Association (AVPN). This annual accolade celebrates one pizzeria that exemplifies the tradition and quality of authentic Neapolitan pizza.

This year’s honor went to Zielona Górka, owned by husband-and-wife duo Jędrzej and Lilianna Lewandowski. Remarkably, it’s only the second time a pizzeria outside Naples has received this prestigious title, the first being in São Paulo, Brazil.

“I never expected such a distinction in my life,” Jędrzej shared with the Polish Press Agency. “This recognition is not just for us, but also for Pabianice and Poland.”

The couple both have backgrounds in architecture. About ten years ago, they pivoted their careers to open a restaurant. Initially, the menu featured a variety of dishes, but they gradually focused on pizza. Jędrzej dedicated two years to refining his pizza-making skills in their garage.

Last year, Zielona Górka ranked among the 50 best pizzerias in Europe and the 100 best in the world, according to 50 Top Pizza, an organization that conducts anonymous tastings. This surge in visibility has attracted guests from all over Poland and beyond.

Poland is quickly gaining a reputation as a culinary hotspot. The number of Polish restaurants awarded a Michelin star doubled last year, reflecting the growing quality and diversity of its dining scene.
