Discover Why Two Houston Universities Are Ranked Among the World’s Best: Top Headlines You Can’t Miss!

A recent report has ranked Houston as the 13th best city in the United States for 2025. The annual "America’s Best Cities" report from Resonance Consultancy looks at factors like livability, culture, and economic growth in cities with populations over 500,000.

Although Houston slipped from its previous spot at 10th place in 2024, the report still highlights its appeal as a vibrant city. Its population has hit an impressive 7.51 million, driven by a strong economy and a booming real estate market. Houston also earned the 4th spot for its exceptional restaurant scene.

New developments are on the rise too. A new Home2 Suites/Tru by Hilton opened near the Toyota Center, and renovations are underway at the Residence Inn NASA/Clear Lake. Exciting projects, like a park-filled retail hub in Greenside set for 2026, promise to enhance the city’s offerings. Additionally, the Ismaili Center will soon join Houston’s cultural landscape.

Houston’s energy sector contributes significantly to its economy. Companies, such as the HyVelocity Hub, aim for sustainable growth. The hub recently secured $1.2 billion from the U.S. Department of Energy. This investment is expected to create 45,000 jobs and reduce carbon emissions by 7.7 million tons annually.

In the broader Texas landscape, Dallas and Austin follow closely behind Houston, ranking 14th and 15th, respectively. However, San Antonio dropped to 41st, and El Paso fell to 100th from 83rd last year.

Jason McGrath from Ipsos noted that American cities are resilient, facing challenges like climate change and infrastructure demands. They continue to innovate, showcasing both cultural vibrancy and economic strength. "The allure of American cities remains strong," he stated, highlighting their diverse attractions.
