Discover Why UWF and PSC Online Programs are Ranked Among the Best by U.S. News and World Report!

The University of West Florida (UWF) and Pensacola State College (PSC) have made waves in the 2025 U.S. News and World Report Best Online College rankings.

Both institutions proudly ranked 39th out of over 350 schools for Best Online Bachelor’s Programs. This is a notable rise in their standings.

UWF also achieved 25th place for Best Online Bachelor’s Programs for Veterans. This is their highest rank ever in this category, reflecting their commitment to supporting military students.

This year’s rankings show improvement from 2024, where UWF was 45th for Best Online Bachelor’s Programs and 30th for programs aimed at veterans.

Pensacola State College’s online RN to BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) program earned recognition too. It was ranked second among the Florida College System and seventh among all public and private colleges in the state. This is a two-spot increase from last year.

UWF President Martha Saunders noted that these rankings highlight the university’s dedication to providing quality online education for over 25 years. She emphasized their experience as early adopters of distance learning.

UWF was recognized across various categories, including online programs for MBA, Master’s in Nursing, Information Technology, Criminal Justice, and Education.

Moreover, PSC has graduated 447 students with Bachelor of Science in Nursing degrees as of December. Since launching in 2011, the online RN to BSN program has been designed for working healthcare professionals, offering the flexibility they need.

PSC’s Director of Nursing, Dr. Corey Lofton, credited the program’s success to its strong curriculum and skilled faculty. The program focuses on practical learning, modern resources, and partnerships with healthcare organizations. These elements prepare students for real-world challenges in nursing.

The rankings assess more than 1,600 fully online degree programs. They only include programs that are wholly online from start to finish within the academic year. Last September, UWF was also ranked in the top 10 public institutions in its region.
