Discover Why UWF’s Online Programs Are Ranked Among the Best by U.S. News & World Report!

The University of West Florida (UWF) is making waves in the online education scene! In the 2025 U.S. News and World Report rankings, UWF stood out as one of the top schools in the country. It secured the 39th spot for Best Online Bachelor’s Programs out of over 350 institutions. Even more impressively, UWF ranked 25th for Best Online Bachelor’s Programs for Veterans. This is a significant jump from 2024, when the school was ranked 45th and 30th in these categories, respectively. It’s an exciting milestone, especially for the veterans category, where UWF achieved its highest ranking yet.

UWF President Martha D. Saunders expressed pride in these results, highlighting the university’s long-standing dedication to online education. “As early adopters of distance learning, we have learned a lot about excellence in online course delivery,” she noted. This commitment has been a part of UWF’s mission for over 25 years.

Besides the bachelor’s programs, UWF also received recognition in various graduate categories, including MBA, Nursing, Information Technology, Criminal Justice, and Education. These accolades underline the university’s comprehensive online offerings.

When ranking online programs for veterans, U.S. News considers factors like veteran enrollment and GI Bill certification. UWF’s strong showing reflects its focus on supporting military students. Apart from the bachelor’s ranking for veterans, the school scored well in master’s categories, including Nursing, MBA, Information Technology, and Education.

The rankings evaluate more than 1,600 fully online degree programs, looking closely at each offering from start to finish throughout the academic year. UWF was also recognized in September 2024 as one of the top 10 public institutions in its region, further solidifying its reputation for quality distance education.
