Discovering Soul in Electronic Music: Berlin’s Logic1000 Shares Her Journey to India and Unique Sound

Excitement is in the air as the renowned Warehouse Project festival makes its way to India for the first time. From October 24 to 26, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Hyderabad will come alive with electrifying sets from top artists. The lineup features Joy Orbison, a pioneer in genre-blending sounds, DJ Boring, who brings a lo-fi vibe, and others like Jyoty and DJ HEARTSTRING. This celebration of music promises to be a transformative experience.

Hyderabad’s grand finale at Quake Arena on October 26 includes a special performance by Logic1000. Originally from Sydney but now based in Berlin, she’s reshaping the DJ scene with her unique style. Logic1000, whose real name is Samantha Poulter, has a distinctive touch. While many producers focus on mechanical sounds, she infuses warmth and intimacy into her music.

Her debut album, Mother, released in 2024, beautifully captures the joys and challenges of motherhood while resonating with club energy. “I wrote much of it during nap times,” she explains, balancing motherhood and creativity. This year, she’s preparing to connect with her audience in India, taking inspiration from Indian psy, ambient, and new-age music.

“I’d love to do a downtempo set in India one day,” she shares.

Logic1000 focuses on building a connection with her audience. She aims to create an experience that goes beyond just music. Rather than hiding behind a laptop, she seeks to engage with attendees personally, bringing her eclectic sound to life.

This festival marks a turning point for India’s growing electronic scene. According to a recent survey, over 60% of Indian youths are now interested in electronic music, a significant rise over the last decade. Logic1000 is among those leading the charge, celebrating the evolving landscape of music.

In her interview, Logic1000 highlights how her creative process has evolved. The challenges of motherhood have made her more intentional with her time and music. “I rest before performing and keep a clear mind,” she states. “This way, I can truly connect with the crowd.”

Her music reflects her identity, thriving on human emotions rather than algorithms. As she puts it, “Music mirrors who we are as individuals.” Logic1000’s unique sound is a testament to the creativity brewing within the electronic scene, paving the way for future artists.

This festival isn’t just about performances; it’s about community, growth, and the exciting future of music in India.
