Disney has announced price increases for its streaming service, Disney+, starting October 21. The ad-supported plan will now cost $11.99 per month, up by $2. The no-ads plan will jump $3 to $18.99 monthly, or have a new annual price of $189.99, reflecting a $30 increase.

This news comes amid backlash surrounding the show “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” after it was pulled off-air due to host Jimmy Kimmel’s remarks about controversial events. Viewers reacted strongly on social media, with some canceling their Disney+ subscriptions in support of Kimmel. Disney later announced the show would return after public criticism.
