At 41, Romano has experienced a challenging journey with cancer in her family. Both of her parents battled the disease, and her father sadly lost his fight. Her grandmother also passed away from lung cancer. This personal history motivated Romano and her husband to get screened.
In her video, she highlighted a stark contrast between her results and her husband’s. While his tests came back clear, hers did not. “Mine did not come back negative,” Romano said, reflecting on the gravity of the situation. “This might mean I have stageable cancer.”
Romano, who runs the popular podcast “Vulnerable,” shared that her next step is to undergo a PET scan, though navigating insurance for coverage has proven to be a hurdle.
“Cancer is everywhere, which is why I got this test,” she stated, acknowledging the shock of the news while balancing her career. Despite the serious diagnosis, she remained optimistic: “It’s all in God’s hands now. I have two little girls who need me.”
Romano emphasizes taking life day by day and is in the process of publishing a memoir, aiming to share her journey with others.
