The “Department of Government Efficiency” (Doge) has been dissolved, ending its controversial run just before its contract expired. Joe Gebbia, a co-founder of Airbnb and one of Doge’s leading figures, has transitioned from government efficiency efforts to creating websites that recruit law enforcement for Washington, D.C., and promote the president’s drug pricing program.
Recent surveys show public reactions are mixed. Many citizens were skeptical about Doge’s mission and its effectiveness. This suggests that the sudden dissolution may reflect a broader trend of questioning efficiency in government.
