Doja Cat Defends Her Bold Oscars Performance: ‘It Was Brave and Scary’ – Here’s What She Said

Doja Cat, known for her rap skills, shook things up at last night’s Oscars. She performed a medley of songs from the iconic James Bond films alongside her collaborators Lisa and Raye. While the performance aimed to honor the legendary 007, it also received mixed reviews online.

In a candid Instagram post, Doja Cat shared her excitement and nerves about the performance. She called her rendition of “Diamonds Are Forever” brave, admitting it was a nerve-wracking experience. “I never get to sing like that,” she noted. “I know some people didn’t like it, but I feel good that I pushed myself.” Despite facing criticism, she expressed pride for tackling such a classic song, emphasizing that the entire experience was a blessing.

The tribute began with a stunning dance performance by Margaret Qualley, dressed in satin red, paying tribute to Bond girls from the past. Then, the trio took the stage: Lisa started with Paul McCartney’s “Live And Let Die,” followed by Doja Cat’s rendition, and Raye concluded with Adele’s “Skyfall.”

Raye also expressed her nerves about singing Adele’s song, stating on social media, “I was sooo nervous because no one can sing like Adele, but I tried my very best.” She was thankful for the opportunity to perform at such a prestigious event.

Lisa, who is making her acting debut in Season 3 of The White Lotus, shared her joy in being back with her “Born Again” sisters at the Oscars. It was a night filled with emotions, talent, and a touch of glamour.
