Dolly Parton recently shared her heartfelt thoughts after the passing of her husband, Carl Dean.
In a touching Instagram post, she expressed gratitude for the support she has received. “This is a love note to family, friends, and fans. Thank you for all the messages, cards, and flowers that you’ve sent to pay your respects,” she wrote. Dolly, now 79, reassured everyone, “He is in God’s arms now, and I am okay with that. I will always love you.”
Carl Dean passed away on March 3, at the age of 82. A private ceremony will be held for immediate family only, as stated in another post by Dolly on Instagram. She also mentioned that he is survived by his siblings, Sandra and Donnie.
Dolly reflected on their long life together, saying that words couldn’t express the love they shared over their 58 years of marriage. “Thank you for your prayers and sympathy,” she said, emphasizing the family’s request for privacy during this hard time.
Stella Parton, Dolly’s sister, also spoke out, thanking fans for their prayers and support during this sad moment.
Dolly and Carl were private about their relationship, often keeping it away from the spotlight. In a past interview, Dolly praised her husband for always being her biggest fan, noting, “He’s at home, supporting me from the sidelines.” She expressed that having someone who loves you for who you are is incredibly comforting, especially since Carl loved her before she became a star.
Reflecting on their strong bond, Dolly once said, “To him, I’m his star.” She highlighted how their different paths complement each other, making their time together even more special.
