Boston University’s women’s tennis team had an impressive match against Holy Cross, winning 5-0 last Saturday. This victory brings their season record to 8-7 and keeps them perfect in the Patriot League at 4-0.
The doubles matches kicked off strong for BU. Sophomore Uma Bakaityte and freshman Gabriella Mikaul dominated at line one, winning 6-0. Senior Sydney Sharma and junior Rhea Rai followed suit, clinching the doubles point with another 6-0 win at line three.
In singles play, the Terriers maintained their momentum. Sophomore Blanka DeMicheli quickly secured BU’s first point with a flawless 6-0, 6-0 victory at the No. 3 spot. Freshman Madison Liu followed up with an equally stunning 6-0, 6-0 win at line two. The match was wrapped up by junior Emily Zhao, who won 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 4 position. Just after, Mikaul finished her match with a 6-0, 6-1 victory at line one, adding the fifth point. The rest of the matches went unfinished.
The Terriers look ahead as they prepare for their next challenge against the defending Patriot League champion Navy on April 12, with action set to begin at 10 a.m.
