Dominating Performance: Krieger’s Five Goals Lead Lindenwood to Victory Against Saint Francis

The Lindenwood women’s lacrosse team, now 3-1, achieved another impressive road victory, defeating Saint Francis University (1-3) 14-9 on Thursday in Loretta, Pennsylvania.

GAME RECAP:

Lindenwood kicked off the game strong, scoring just under two minutes in when Isabella Rulapaugh found the net. This set the tone, as the Lions scored four more goals without response. Alissa DiGiacinto, Emma Walsh, and two from Reese Krieger brought the score to 5-0. Saint Francis made an effort, edging closer with two goals, making it 5-2 at the end of the first quarter.

Defenses tightened in the second quarter. Aislin Sweeney made several key saves, helping to keep the Lions ahead. Olivia Tighe and Luci Selander added goals to extend the lead to 7-2. Krieger completed a hat trick, pushing it to 8-2. Although Saint Francis managed to score again, Selander found the back of the net once more, ending the half at 9-6.

Saint Francis started the third quarter with new energy, closing the gap to 9-7. After a tense moment, Krieger scored again, making it 10-8. Selander then added another goal, ending the quarter with Lindenwood leading 11-8.

In the fourth, the teams exchanged goals. Isabella Jahkhah scored for Lindenwood, followed by Krieger’s fifth goal, bringing the score to 13-9. Jahkhah ended the match with another goal, securing the 14-9 win for the Lions. Sweeney had an outstanding performance, recording a career-high 16 saves.
