The Great Chicago Open is the fifth stop on the 2025 Indoor Archery World Series. It will host over 200 archers competing in various shooting styles over two exciting days.
This event marks a special moment for Chicago as it’s the first time the city has hosted a stage of this premier international indoor archery circuit. Previously, it welcomed a para world ranking event in 2023.
Archers of all abilities are welcome, including able-bodied men and women, as well as para archers. The event will take place at Festival Hall, located on Navy Pier, extending into Lake Michigan, one of the largest natural lakes in the United States.
Brady Ellison, the world’s top-ranked recurve archer, is a key competitor this year. He recently brought home a gold medal from the Nimes Archery Tournament. His wife, Toja, who won the compound women’s 2022 Indoor World Series Finals, will also be shooting in Chicago.
Other notable participants include Casey Kaufhold, an Olympic bronze medalist, and Mike Schloesser, known as ‘Mister Perfect.’ Schloesser has already claimed three Indoor World Series golds this season, with wins in Lausanne, Strassen, and Taoyuan City.
The tournament will also feature competitions for young archers under-18, those under-21, and archers over 50, ensuring a wide range of talents on display.
