The upcoming white-ball series between Australia and India in October and November 2025 has stirred incredible excitement among cricket fans, especially within the Indian community in Australia. In just two weeks, ticket sales surpassed 90,000 for the eight matches.

Cricket Australia announced that tickets for the upcoming ODI match in Sydney and the T20I in Canberra are already sold out, four months before the games. The demand is largely fueled by the Indian diaspora, with fan clubs like Bharat Army and Fans India leading the way. Bharat Army has snagged over 2,400 tickets, while Fans India has purchased more than 1,400. Notably, Amit Goyal from the Brissy Baniyas community has bought 880 tickets for the T20I at the Gabba, the highest individual purchase.

This surge in ticket sales reflects a growing trend among cricket fans, particularly from India. Recent statistics indicate that over 16% of tickets bought so far come from Indian fan clubs, showing their significant interest in this series. Groups like the Indian Community of Gold Coast and Pakka Local are also contributing to the excitement, collectively buying more than 500 tickets for matches at the Gold Coast and MCG.

The enthusiasm doesn’t stop in Australia. Fans from India are equally eager, purchasing over 1,400 tickets. Joel Morrison, Executive General Manager of Events and Operations at Cricket Australia, expressed his delight at the turnout. He stated, “This shows tremendous interest from cricket fans, especially following the successful Border-Gavaskar series last summer.”

Looking back, the rise in cricket’s popularity among the Indian diaspora can be traced to major tournaments and the influence of players who have created a strong emotional bond with fans. This connection is more profound than ever, promising an electric atmosphere at every match.
