Don’t Miss Out: Important Reminder for International Travel Registration

If you’re part of the faculty or staff planning to travel internationally for university-related work, or if you’re taking university-owned equipment abroad, you need to register your travel.

When you register, you’ll provide key information to help meet U.S. Export Regulations. This step ensures that you comply with federal laws and that you’re covered by the International SOS health and evacuation insurance.

It’s best to complete this registration at least six weeks before your trip. If students will join you but haven’t gone through the Education Abroad process, make sure to reach out to Vanessa Yerkovich for assistance. All faculty-led student travel, whether for credit or not, must go through this program.

Don’t forget, if you’re planning to host a foreign visitor, you should register their visit in the International Visitor Registry managed by the Office of Global Affairs.

After you register your trip, the Export Control Office will check if the visitor is on any federal restricted party lists or has any related restrictions. If they need more information, they will get in touch with you and give guidance based on the specifics of your visit.
