The NCAA Division I baseball tournament is different from the Men’s College World Series (MCWS). The tournament begins in May and consists of 64 teams. After several rounds, the remaining eight teams head to Omaha for the MCWS. Here, they battle in two brackets, culminating in a best-of-three finals to determine the champion.

Team Selection
Teams earn spots in the tournament through automatic qualifications or at-large bids. There are 29 conference champions that automatically qualify, while 35 teams are chosen based on their performance during the season.
